How Raila Will Kill Uhuru's Big 4 Project - Mutahi Ngunyi Explains

Political analyst Prof Mutahi Ngunyi on Sunday disclosed that National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga would kill President Uhuru Kenyatta's Big Four projects if made part of them.

In his weekly show the Fifth Estate, the professor and his team from Fort Hall School of Government opined that Odinga was a liar who could not be trusted with the projects if the recent developments in his coalition were anything to go by.

"Even though the country is now at peace, I'm completely suspicious of Raila. You can't be in NASA one day and then abandon them on the next.

"Raila is a political liar. If he's not he should tell us why he replaced Wetangula with Orengo, it does not add up.

"We want development from below not from Harambee house and if Raila is part of it we will reject it. It must be about connecting people and not using lies and this why Uhuru must keep Raila from the big 4," he conveyed.

President Kenyatta announced the Big Four projects during the 2017 Jamhuri day celebrations where he stated would focus on food security, affordable housing, manufacturing and affordable healthcare for all.

The team explained that the projects should not be a government handout adding that with Raila, they would bump into obstacles that would lead to their demise.

"The moment Raila becomes part of the Big 4, he will it by suffocating it. I'm suspicious of Raila because he is a project of the Mzungu's," Professor Ngunyi.

Based on that suspicion, the team further explained that for President Uhuru to get the development agenda right he must denounce the Mzungu consultants.

"You cannot trust foreigners to get the development agenda right. For Uhuru to get development right he must denounce IMF and Mzungu consultants who do not understand what the country needs," they stated.

Earlier in February, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) raised the alarm over Kenya's debt which hit a record high of Sh4.6 trillion.

Speaking to the National Assembly’s Budget and Appropriations Committee, senior IMF officials noted that Kenya risked losing investors and its economic gains if the government did not contain the debt.
