Moses Kuria Addresses Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko's Allegations of Mt Kenya Leaders Plot to Replace DP William Ruto

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria on Tuesday addressed Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko's claims that a section of Mount Kenya leaders was plotting to shortchange Deputy President William Ruto for 2022 presidential contest.

Speaking during an interview at Milele FM, the Jubilee legislator stated that Sonko's allegations were unfounded urging Kenyans not to take them seriously.

"We should not pay attention to Sonko's words because they are not substantiated. And even if there are meetings, they will not amount to much because we consider a lot before we decide on who to back for the presidency," Moses Kuria conveyed.

He added that the Kikuyu community was business oriented and as such would support a candidate who would protect their interests.

The Jubilee MP, however, failed to divulge who the region would support in the 2022 presidential contest.

When questioned on his own presidential ambitions, Moses Kuria explained that he was not thinking of that as he was focussed on current events.

He expressed his interest in extending a hand of cooperation with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

Kuria, however, added that he was not ready to work with Moses Wetangula and Musalia Mudavadi as they had not settled yet.

"When you want to cooperate with someone you have to wait till they have peace at heart. Wetangula and Mudavadi do not have that. However, for Kalonzo, I would like to meet him and see how we can work together," he explained.

Earlier on Monday, Moses Kuria met with Raila Odinga at his Capitol Hill office stating that: "It's time to unite this country. We met to discuss how we can best bring Kenyans together."

He revealed that their talks had nothing to do with Jubilee Party or NASA politics.

"I want you to know this is in no way about Jubilee and NASA, we want to have all Kenyans on board including those who don't have a party," he affirmed.
