How Police Blocked Raila From Rescuing Miguna [VIDEO]

NASA leader Raila Odinga was on Monday night blocked by police as he attempted to rescue Miguna Miguna from being roughed up by security officers at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

In a video seen by Kenyans.co.ke, Odinga is seen making frantic efforts to stop police from forcefully pushing Miguna and he even chases after him but is blocked by armed officers.

The opposition leader later left the airport seemingly angered by what had transpired and refused to talk to the media.

It was at that point that Miguna was forced onto a Dubai-bound Emirates flight but he refused to board stating he had no business in Dubai.

He later disembarked and the plane left without him with reports indicating that he spent the night in a 'dark room' at JKIA.

According to one of his lawyer Cliff Ombeta, Miguna was neither given food nor water during his overnight stay.

He, however, confirmed what the Immigration Department had earlier revealed that plans were underway to reinstate Miguna's citizenship.

Ombeta also maintained that his client would not sign immigration papers as it is illegal.

"It is wrong for the immigration to interpret only part of the court order that says Miguna can come in with his Canadian passport

"The court had said the declaration that Miguna is not a Kenyan citizen is illegal; we will not sanitize their illegal position by signing the immigration documents

"Miguna Miguna seems to be a potential problem maker for the government," revealed Ombeta.
