Kenyans Lash Out at Uhuru After He Scrapped Off Visa Requirements for Mozambique Citizens

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday was at the receiving end of a backlash after he announced the scrapping of visa requirements for Mozambique citizens who wish to visit Kenya.

Posting on Twitter, the Head of State updated netizens on his new move to enhance and improve cooperation between the two countries.

However, his message was not received kindly as most tweeps condemned him for being a leader "who preaches water and drinks wine."

Citing the recent NRM-K self-declared general Miguna Miguna's saga, Kenyans accused Kenyatta of leading a double life.

They further were quick to dismiss the Jubilee party leader's move as meaningless if a Kenyan citizen by birth is asked by the government to apply for a visa to enter the country.

One user lamented: "We need proper economic stimulation not some PR stunts, focus on how we Kenyans can grow our economy first before you open boundaries anyhow. Always remember you are not more Kenyan than others. Restore Miguna.

Yet another exclaimed: "You cancelled a Passport of a Kenyan by birth, and have disobeyed court orders to reinstate the passport to him. A foreigner is more valued than a Kenyan."

One Engineer Onyango Otieno further advised Miguna to acquire a Mozambique citizenship then he will be allowed into Kenya freely.

Miguna Miguna was on Wednesday night deported again by the Kenyan Immigration Department following his decline to apply for a Kenyan tourist visa.

According to the Canada-based barrister, he was forced to board a Dubai-bound flight.

Reports indicate that the plane carrying him touched down at the Dubai airport at around 5 am on Thursday morning.
