Kalonzo Musyoka Rebrands Wiper Party, Forms One Kenya Movement (OKM)

National Super Alliance (NASA) Principal Kalonzo Musyoka on Monday rebranded the Wiper party to form a new party which will be known as One Kenya Movement (OKM).

Speaking during a meeting of Ukambani leaders in Matungulu constituency, Kalonzo affirmed that he would be the 5th Kenyan President.

Former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama called on the Kamba community to rally behind Kalonzo and support his 2022 Presidential bid.

"No presidential candidate will campaign in Ukambani without the express permission of Kalonzo," he conveyed.

Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu expressed her support for the NASA principal assuring that: "I will lead the fundraising and political mobilisation efforts for Kalonzo's 2022 presidential bid."

On the other hand, Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua dismissed the meeting terming it a wiper party affair rather than a genuine Ukambani Leaders Forum.

"The meeting has been full of insults, chest thumping, and ultimatums that really do not lead to the real unity of purpose. There was no development or economic empowerment agenda discussed. The meeting was all about the political interests of an individual and not the plight of over 4 million Kamba people.

"As Maendeleo Chap Chap, we demand a real and not a fake unity meeting. The meeting should be convened by neutral and respected religious leaders and elders. We are ready for such a neutral and well-meaning meeting that discusses the plight of our people in a respectful and organized manner.

"As we await for such a meeting, Maendeleo Chap Chap leaders will be touring Kenya popularizing our presidential bid. To win the Presidency, a leader needs to be accepted across the country," he stated.
