Ahmednasir Abdullahi Questions Sonko's Documentary Set to Be Aired on TV Stations

Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi on Saturday questioned Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko's intention after he put out an advertisement for a documentary his team has produced.

Posting on his twitter page, Ahmednasir noted: "I love my governor...but is this a breaking news item or an announcement of a major event?

"It can't be a documentary...surely what will be the narrative?" the lawyer wondered.

On Saturday, the County boss put a promo announcing a documentary that is set to be aired on four television stations on separate dates.

"This weekend we paint a picture of Nairobi City County Government. It’s achievements, challenges and future plans for the City," Sonko's picture was captioned on Saturday Standard.

Like Ahmednasir, most Kenyans expressed their displeasure on the Governor's move, a good number referring to him as a Public Relations (PR) leader.

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Communications Director Phillip Etale, supporting Ahmednassir, exclaimed: "Good question."

Another user added: "Imagery: this is the problem with African leadership. Even from the newspaper advert, you realize that his image is bigger than the message. Pathetic."

Additionally, one Charles Owino advised: "Mike Sonko, do we really need this? We don’t need a whole documentary to know what has been achieved. Make better use of this money."

However, another netizen requested Kenyans to cease judging and wait until they watch the documentary then only should they comment from a point of information.
