Interior PS Karanja Kibicho Denies Holding Night Meetings to Sabotage DP William Ruto's 2022 Bid

Interior PS Karanja Kibicho on Monday told Nairobi governor Mike Sonko to focus on cleaning the city instead of cheap politicking.

Kibicho was responding to claims that he was among the people threatening the governor by imposing on him a certain person for the position of Deputy governor.

The PS revealed that there is a cartel of people who pretend to be working for DP William Ruto but in the actual sense are fighting to bring him down.

"We don't do night meetings and if we did, I would tell you. Nobody is trying to fight the DP but there is a cartel of people who always act like they are his protectors.

"I run the intelligence of this country and there are no such meetings. Tell Sonko to man up and address the people he wants to address but not through me.

"He should address that person directly because that's what men do. I am not a politician and neither would I be politicking around the DP," the PS was quoted by the Star.

Sonko on Monday named Kibicho as one of the senior government officials he claims has been threatening him.

Speaking during an interview on Kameme FM, he stated that senior civil servants who served during President Mwai Kibaki's term were working to undermine him.

"The deputy governor will be a Kikuyu because they have a larger population that supported me.

"Let me choose the Kikuyu I want, a technocrat, a professional, an elite and not the one Karanja Kibicho wants," remarked Sonko.
