Budalangi MP Raphael Wanjala has been arrested in Kisumu by officers from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).

Namwamba, who is the Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, had gone to inspect the ongoing construction of Sigiri Bridge which collapsed in July 2017.

However, youth that is said to be allied to Wanjala interrupted the event under unclear circumstances.

This saw police intervene and were forced to use tear gas to disperse the rowdy youth.

Reports indicate that the Budalangi legislator was booked in at Kisumu Central Police Station before being transferred to Kakamega.

"When he was MP for 10 years I never went to any of his development projects, we could only possibly meet in funerals.

"I also ask him now that I have the mandate to perform, to deliver to the people of Budalangi," Wanjala had on Friday voiced on what he termed as interference by Namwamba.

However, the CAS had told off his political nemesis, "You cannot reduce me to start playing small politics when I am playing politics in Washington D.C. I am now dealing with global issues."
