Gov Ann Waiguru Assures DP William Ruto of Mt Kenya Support in 2022

Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru dismissed speculation that voters in the Mt Kenya region will ditch Deputy President William Ruto before the 2022 General Election, declaring that the Kikuyu community already had a candidate in Ruto.

Speaking at the Eldoret City Marathon on Sunday, Waiguru maintained that they would stand with Ruto 'at all costs' assuaging fears from a section of the Deputy President's supporters.

"I am here to assure you that we already have our President ... that is Ruto.

"We will support Ruto to ensure the presidency comes to this side in 2022," she stated.

Waiguru's sentiments were echoed by Nyandarua Woman Representative Faith Gitau and her Nyeri counterpart Rahab Mukami.
