Police Reveal Crucial Information on Attack of Timothy Muriuki

Central Police division boss Robinson Thuku has stated that the goons who attacked former Nairobi Central District Association (NCBDA) Chairman Timothy Muriuki on Monday have been identified and their names will be revealed soon.

Thuku added that no one has been arrested yet but camera images have made their work lighter.

“From camera images, the men have been identified and it’s only a matter of time before we arrest them. We shall also release their names.

"The investigation is on but we have not arrested the suspects yet,” he stated while speaking to journalists.

During the Monday incident, the attackers roughed up Muriuki and accused him of tarnishing Governor Mike Sonko's name, threatening to throw him into a swimming pool.

Earlier this week, Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi advised the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) to arrest the men alleged to be Sonko's aides.

Through a tweet, Ahmednasir stated that violence was unacceptable and called on the DPP to charge the three men who were caught on camera manhandling Muriuki.

"We can't accept violence and brute force to be privatized. That is the sole monopoly of government.

"The DPP must arrest the thugs and their principal," the Senior Counsel remarked.

"We accepted, internalized and even moved on the spectacular failure of the Sonko regime to do even 1% of what he is supposed to do for Nairobi but we can't accept this thuggery and lawlessness. The DPP must charge the 3 thugs in court," he added.

Sonko, on the other hand, distanced himself from the goons, urging police to swiftly act and arrest them.

He denied funding them, instead, pointing a finger at politicians who want to tarnish his name as governor.
