Sonko, Ahmednasir Engage in Nasty Twitter Fight

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Friday lashed out at prominent lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi, calling him a conman who intimidates judges.

Through his official Twitter handle, Sonko further accused the Senior Counsel of obtaining millions through dubious ways from a German client.

"U conman @ahmednasirlaw after obtaining millions from your German client with all ur Cornell University degrees vs my Kamiti, Shimo Prisons & KEMU degrees I still beat U at the High Court & Court of Appeal in the Temple Point case.

"Buree kabisa (useless)& u should stop intimidating Judges," wrote the governor.

The lawyer swiftly responded by posting an embarrassing photo of Sonko, noting that it would be the cover of his Nairobi Law Monthly magazine.

"When Hon Governor Sonko who served only 8 months of 5 years jail term and who then escaped from prison through a rathole calls you a conman...you know we live in interesting times...," wrote the Senior Counsel.

This comes just a day after Ahmednasir called upon President Uhuru Kenyatta to disband the Nairobi County government.

In a post on his Twitter account, the Senior Counsel noted that the City's county government is functionally dead and the situation was likely to cause a national disaster.

Ahmednasir maintained: "The County Government of Nairobi is functionally dead. It is a national disaster. It will only get worse."

The lawyer further added: "I petition HE Uhuru Kenyatta to exercise his constitutional prerogative and disband the county government and for the national government to take over all services/functions."

Sonko has been under immense pressure in recent days following the heavy rains that have pounded the city, leaving many roads impassable.

Photos of Nairobi's Tom Mboya Street in a sorry state littered the internet as netizens questioned what the governor was doing to improve the metropolis.
