Raila Odinga Sparks Uproar After Meeting With Controversial Nairobi Business Community

National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga on Friday met with the controversial Nairobi Business Community at a Nairobi Hotel.

Reports indicated that Raila used the meeting to brief the business community on the Handshake and the Building Bridges to a New Kenyan Nation initiative that President Uhuru Kenyatta and the NASA leader envision.

Raila stated that members of the business community had "expressed their willingness to play any role that they may be requested of them in the days ahead."

However, despite reports indicating that the meeting aimed at championing the Handshake agenda at the grassroots, a section of Raila's followers were angered by the meeting due to the controversy that shrouds the controversial Nairobi Business Community.

Absolutely! what those guys did to innocent Kenyans is inexcusable! I am still wondering where they even got those American @USArmy Uniforms and why no one has looked into that to date.

You meet an outlawed group of individuals and you rush here to Twitter and shamelessly spit out. I can't comprehend how, why I supported your vision.

Mr. President, you need to tour each and every corner of Kenya to preach the msg of reconciliation. Itabidi uchukue jukumu la kufanya hiyo kazi mzee, hao wengine ni kelele za chura tu. Uchu wao wa kuleta mabadiliko Kenya ni finyo sana. hawana huo upeo.

What Kenya needs is a peaceful country and stable economy. That means Kenyans can work and put food on the table. Other than that.....

Another section of netizens saw the meeting as a part of the 2022 succession plan that has seen a heated debate since the historic handshake.

My generation is extremely cautious of the mistakes Kibaki's Mt Kenya generation did in 2002; as history continues to repeat itself. We will not accept any MOU to split Nairobi constituencies into ethnic echelons, nor will we abandon Ruto.
