Governor Sonko & CS Keriako Tobiko Dismiss Claims of Their Differences

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Tuesday divulged that he holds nothing against Environment Cabinet Secretary Keriako Tobiko following an incident that happened on Saturday during the National Tree Planting Day.

Speaking during a press conference of the Nairobi Regeneration Committee, Sonko noted: "My brother Tobiko and I have no issues, we are friends and we are working together.

"Whatever happened the other day, was not caused by Tobiko. You all know who is undermining me," Sonko added.

CS Tobiko, who spoke after the County boss, reiterated his (Sonko's) sentiments asserting that they have a good relationship and they are working together for the benefit of Nairobi residents.

"I have absolutely nothing personal against his excellency governor Sonko.

"Any differences of opinion is nothing personal. We spoke about that this morning and we resolved that we would work together as a team," Tobiko exclaimed.

The CS further asked the people of Nairobi to support them and the projects they intend to establish for the development of Nairobi.

Sonko, who pointed out that the people know the leader who is fighting his leadership, also disclosed that he had left the matter to the President to deal with.

Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala also affirmed that whatever differences that are there between leaders will be resolved for the well being of the County.

"Nairobi is and will always be first and our differences second," he highlighted.

On Saturday, Tobiko allegedly tried to prevent Sonko from making an address by openly not giving him an opportunity, in an event that was graced by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.

The protocol hitch led Sonko to grab the microphone and start making his speech, just as the DP stood to make his address, consequently, Ruto was forced to sit down and let Sonko speak.
