Lurambi MP Titus Khamala Travels to Canada to Bring Back Miguna Miguna

Lurambi MP Bishop Titus Khamala on Tuesday declared that he was out to help the National Resistance Movement (NRM) general Miguna Miguna see sense in the top city job offer from Governor Mike Sonko.

In a video making rounds on social media, Khamala claimed he would drive through the Canadian streets in search of the 2017 Nairobi gubernatorial seat contender who is in Toronto and convince him to take up with pride the Deputy Governor job.

"I am going to look for Mr Miguna Miguna myself. I want to put sense into Miguna, you are the deputy governor for Nairobi, you intended to be the governor and now come and take the job, but I have to check my passport to ensure I am allowed to travel back to Kenya," Khamala stated.

In the video, the MP claimed Miguna could be found one and half hours away from his location and he'd not hesitate to convince the leader to take up the nomination to deputize Governor Sonko.

The MP early this year opposed the Miguna-backed plan to swear-in ODM party leader Raila Odinga as the People's president describing the intent as mere political sideshows by the opposition.

The controversial lawyer has remained sceptical about the nomination that has been differently linked to both DP William Ruto and President Kenyatta by pundits over alleged fall-outs with the Head of State.

Miguna, in response to the nomination, asserted he was not sure of the motive behind the governor's offer since he was last in communication with the governor only during the contested debate.

The move was also opposed by a number of top Jubilee leaders including Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja and National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Dulae, who urged Sonko to withdraw the nomination.

Nairobi county assembly speaker Beatrice Elachi, who had earlier stated she would not table the nominee before the house, retracted saying Miguna would be vetted for the position since "he is Governor Sonko's choice."

It is, however, unclear as to whether Bishop Khamala was out of the country to specifically look for Dr Miguna.
