Instagram Mute Feature Set to Be Launched

Instagram is set to introduce a new feature that will enable users to mute friends who have too many posts without unfollowing them.

Most users have been looking forward to the development that will be rolled out in the next few weeks.

"Whether you're muting someone who irks you -- or slyly muting an ex after a break up -- the tool aims to be a less aggressive option than unfollowing another user.

"The account holders will not know they are muted," stated Instagram.

The feature is part of a larger effort to make it easier for users to personalize their feeds based on what they want to see.

To mute an account, users will be able to tap the "..." menu next to an account handle, and choose "Mute Posts."

You'll still able to view posts on the muted account's profile page and receive notifications about any comments or posts you're tagged in. User accounts can also be unmuted.

Several social media platforms have been introducing changes to give users the best experience.

Recently Facebook launched a new dating feature that may see you land a spouse and possibly establish a relationship that will last a lifetime.

The dating feature will allow users to create a separate "dating" profile which will not be visible to their network of friends neither will it appear in News Feeds.

Besides, potential matches will be recommended based on dating preferences, points in common and mutual acquaintances in the opt-in feature.
