Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu Hits Back at Deputy Over Attack

Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu has hit back at his Deputy Governor James Nyoro after he launched an attack accusing him of leading a one-man show.

Dismissing Nyoro's claims that he has sidelined him in decision making, Waititu accused Nyoro of skipping cabinet meetings without reason.

The County Boss further rubbished his deputy claims that he lacks an office terming it a "political lie" adding that he has two offices one in Kiambu and Thika.

Speaking during the World Environment Day in Limuru town, Waititu noted: "The one is Kiambu is undergoing rehabilitation."

"Saying he doesn't have an office is a broad daylight lie. There are enough offices," Waititu quipped while questioning why Nyoro has not moved to Thika in the meantime as the Kiambu offices get renovated.

In what appears to be a war of words, Waititu told off Nyoro that: "You cannot come to push me in my office. You have to serve in the office you were elected to be in."

The Governor further accused his deputy of requesting for a new vehicle which is too expensive yet the ones bought in 2017 are still in good condition.

"I am still using the one handed to me by my predecessor William Kabogo. The problem with our people is that they want new vehicles which are very expensive."

He further indicated that Nyoro's absence in meetings cannot stop county business hence he should stop accusing the county chief of not involving him in decision making.

"If someone stays away without a good reason, we cannot stop serving residents and wait for him," he said.

Addressing Limuru residents, Waititu posed: "How many people did I invite here? All of you came willingly. There are officers from our government you cannot see here. No one chased, sidelined or failed to invite them."
