Chief Inspector of Police Julius Muia, who is the lead investigator in the Ksh9 Billion National Youth Service (NYS) scandal has been dropped from the proceedings of the case.
Inspector Muia was dropped following allegations about business dealings and sexual advances on one of the NYS suspects.
He had sworn the affidavit that saw 43 suspects denied bail and remanded by Anti-corruption court magistrate Douglas Ogoti.
His removal from the case is detailed in an affidavit sworn on Monday by Inspector Paul Waweru who is his (Muia's) junior.

The affidavit was in objection to eight applications challenging the denial of bail for the suspects.
Reports alleged that the Inspector may be headed for other duties outside Nairobi.
The officer was incriminated in a damning affidavit sworn by suspect Jeremiah Ngirita.
According to Jeremiah, the inspector has been his business partner and that they have traded with the National Youth Service since 2014 through his company Jerricathy Enterprises.
He added that they have been supplying hardware material and renovation materials to the NYS in Gilgil.
In the affidavit, Jeremiah revealed: "I, together with Mike Julius Kingoo Muia, have been carrying out the business of supplying hardware and renovating facilities at the National Youth Service in Gilgil.
"After our business and relationship went soar, Mike Julius Kingoo Muia vowed to use his position to fight our family," Ngichina explained.
Producing bank slips, Ngirita further disclosed that he has been depositing money into Muia's Cooperative Bank account.
The suspect also accused the investigator of making sexual advances on his sister Ann Wambere during investigations.
