Elgeyo/Marakwet Senator Onesimus Kipchumba Murkomen has revealed that he is glad about the contraband sugar scandal since Kenyans have finally settled on fighting corruption.
Speaking on Wednesday, the Senator noted: "I don’t think these things just happened. They are systemic and entrenched. I am glad we are combatting them," he opined.
Murkomen further told off naysayers quipping: "Don’t believe the lies. Don’t live by innuendos. Don’t judge us by idlers in social media."

"We must all combat corruption. It’s illegal, immoral and evil. Even if you escape the wrath of the law you cannot escape the wrath of God. Keep the faith. Let’s fight together," the legislator rallied support.
Responding to Deputy President William Ruto's promise to comply with President Uhuru Kenyatta's directive on lifestyle audit, the Senator asserted his conviction that other State organs will soon follow suit.
"The DP speaks for the Executive and Public Service. Parliament will speak at the right time and I am sure Chief Justice and JSC will do the same for Judiciary," he stated.
Speaking in Mombasa, the DP noted: "The President pronounced government policy on every public servant to be subjected to a lifestyle audit and it is expected that every public servant will submit themselves for lifestyle audit when that time comes. William Ruto will be among the first for that exercise."
"I can see already, the media has done some work on me. I did expect that the following day it would be someone else, but it is stopped with me. I thought that this lifestyle audit was meant for all public servants?" Ruto posed.
"We must all of us go through audit because Kenya is the only country we have. Every one of us must play his or her role to make sure the country moves forward," he added.
