The police also noted that the assailants proceeded to shoot at the vehicle multiple times before speeding off towards Witeithie Trading Center.

Forensic specialists are said to have camped at the scene of the crime to gather more information concerning the incident.

However, the identity of the deceased still remains unknown even as police work to get crucial leads.

His body has since been moved to Thika Kaho Funeral Home while the vehicle was towed to Thika Police Station.

This incident happened two days after the police shot five suspected thugs along the same road following claims that they had been terrorising residents in the area.

According to the police, they were able to recover an AK47 rifle, two pistols and a car they were believed to have been used in their criminal acts.

"Unfortunately they are all young men who wanted to make life difficult for many. We could have arrested them but the circumstances did not allow," Nairobi police boss Joseph Tito commented on the suspects' killings.
