Video of Eric Omondi Mimicking Lulu Hassan Anchoring News With Rashid

Celebrated comedian Eric Omondi has shared a hilarious video trying to mimic how Citizen TV's Lulu Hassan will be anchoring news together with her husband Rashid Abdalla

Posting on his Instagram page, Eric captioned: "So Citizen TV has got Rashid Abdalla to read news alongside his wife Loulou Hassan This will be historic."

The couple was paired to co-host Nipashe Wikendi every Saturday and Sunday beginning July 22, 2018.

This is the first time in Kenyan media circles for a couple to co-host a news programme.

In the video with more than 85,000 vies in the last 10 hours, Omondi hilariously insinuates how the two might be bringing their privates issues in studio.

The renowned news anchors will present the Swahili news together following the exit of Kanze Dena, who is the acting State House Spokesperson and Head of PSCU, who had anchored alongside Lulu for over five years - a spot that Rashid has filled.

The two anchors were unveiled last Thursday evening as the Royal Media-owned station made changes to assert its continued dominance in the Swahili news category.

Revealing what is termed as a 'star-studded dream team', Citizen TV also indicated that the Nipashe team will also feature Jamila Mohamed, Swaleh Mdoe, Mashirima Kapombe, Mwanahamisi Hamadi, and Nimrod Taabu.

A statement by the media house termed the team as "an all-star cast of the most celebrated Swahili news anchors in the country".

Following the changes, Citizen added that they are now "set to breathe fresh air into the Swahili News Bulletin and completely dominate local Swahili news."

Prior to joining Citizen TV, Abdalla was part of NTV's Swahili anchoring team.

The couple is blessed with two sons, Jibran and Irfan whom Kanze has previously revealed were the reason she met Lulu for the first time - during a birthday party.
