Centum investments Chief Executive James Mworia has indicated that he will give away his salary if appointed Laikipia County Development Authority chairman.
Speaking during his vetting by the county assembly on Tuesday he indicated that he will donate his salary to support needy students.
"I am determined to serve the county in this capacity and sacrificing my salary to help the poor would give me great fulfillment,” Mworia noted

“Whatever the county pays for that position, I will give it to scholarships to help the students who cannot get school fees,” the Centum boss continued.
Mworia who was declared as the highest paid CEO in September last year mentioned that he would use his corporate knowledge to attract investors to the county.
In 2017 he earned an annual salary of Ksh376 million which comes to an estimated Ksh31 million monthly and Ksh1 million daily.
Mworia was nominated alongside Borana Ranch Manager Michael Dyer, Margaret Lesuuda, Johnson Weru, Faith Waigwa and Joseph Ngugi.
The board’s role is to source local and international resources required for promoting county development.
He has served as a senior officer in large corporate groups such as Sidian bank, Almasi beverages limited, Nairobi bottlers limited, Lewa wildlife conservation and Kirera Holdings.
Currently he is the chancellor of Machakos University and also the brain behind the multi-million shilling Maiyan Hotel in Nanyuki.
