Aladwa has always enjoyed a very close relationship with Odinga as he was among those who planned his controversial swearing-in on January 12.

He was also among the first leaders to be arrested, following the controversial ceremony, during the government crackdown on people who plotted, executed and attended it.

Netizens also reiterated Odinga's sentiments as they wished Aladwa a quick recovery with some of his constituents stating that they "have missed him on the ground."

"Quick recovery brother Alandwa...Omundu strong (You are a strong person.)," exclaimed John William.

Another netizen noted: "Get well Mhesh (Honourable), be well."
