Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i was on Tuesday asked to shut down Kenyan media after two stations announced that they would be holding an interview with suspended IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba.

Lawyer Nelson Havi put in the request, accusing the media of being part of a larger scheme by unnamed persons to bring back Chiloba to the public eye.

The lawyer claimed if the shutdown was effected, nothing would be missed from the news of the day, an argument that was supported by a number of his followers.
