The news of the planned interview received a cold reception with a section of Kenyans berating NTV over the idea of hosting Chiloba.

"Who is this Ezra, You mean we are short of personalities who can guide our nation's future. Count me out of this terrible trash. I will be tuned to CNN," one user quipped.

Others lamented on why NTV was giving Chiloba time on air considering the 'mess that was last year's election.'

"Kwani huyu jamaa bado ni mzima? Si atuondokee tafadhali, sio lazima afanye IEBC ( This guy (Chiloba) is still around? He should just leave us alone, it's not a must he works at IEBC) when his integrity is even being questioned by his Chair," one Kenyan noted.

Another echoed the sentiment adding, "Still giving this guy airtime? Even when he is still being investigated by his bosses?"

Many were of the opinion of boycotting the station during the time the interview was scheduled to air.

"We are gonna boycott, you cant invite an electoral thief who singlehandedly bungled our election  on a national television. Be serious Ken," one person conveyed.

One netizen stated, "This one I'll gladly do or watch something different. He's a snake-oil salesman. Can talk his way out of anything. All the best in the interview though, Ken."

Another simply stated; "Hiyo interview mtawatch pekee yenu hapo NMG (That interview you will watch on your own)."
