The commentator made fun of the moment as the two leaders shook hands sealing the deal of the penalty kick.

"Mchezaji wa kiungo cha kati Uhuru Kenyatta anangonjea kipenga cha referee (The central striker Uhuru Kenyatta is just awaiting the whistle blow by the referee)," he states.

Governor Ongwae had taken his position at the goalpost jumping as he warmed up to secure the catch.

When the President sent the ball flying right into the net, not even Governor Ongwae's determined dive could save it.

Following the official launch, Uhuru commended the Kisii County Government for renovating Gusii Stadium.

"There is a need for concerted efforts to support the youth and enable them to play their rightful role in development.
