On Monday, detectives arrested 7 conmen using Deputy President William Ruto’s name to defraud Kenyans off millions of shillings.
The suspects were operating from a house in Loresho estate believed to be owned by a Rift Valley politician.
Over 700 laptops and three government vehicles attached to Ruto’s convoy were recovered in the operation.

The seized cars were also branded.
Police report indicated those arrested are suspected to be using the DP William Ruto's office to defraud unsuspecting Kenyans.
Security officers revealed they had found a document indicating that the suspects had signed a deal of lending goods worth Sh317 million.
The suspects used fake Local Purchase orders (LPOs) to con members of the public claiming that it was the DPs office that was procuring the goods.
The operation was spearheaded by officers attached to the office of the Deputy President.
One of the suspects vied for a political seat in last year's election as an independent candidate in Western but lost.
The group joins a long list of apprehended individuals using government offices to con citizens.
