Kenyans Turn Anger on Julie Gichuru After Tweet Supporting Bobi Wine

Renowned media personality Julie Gichuru found herself on the receiving end after a tweet about Ugandan politician Bobi Wine backfired.

On Sunday, the founder and CEO of Arimus Media limited posted on her page about freeing the Ugandan MP who is being held at millitary base on accusstions of illegal possession of firearms.

“In our new Africa, There is no room for brutality, we cherish each other. Let us debate disagreements, not crush opponents,” her tweet read in part.

In our new Africa,
There is no room for brutality, we cherish each other.
Let us debate disagreements, not crush opponents.
In our new Africa,
Our young people control our future; they are Africa.
Ignore or abuse them at your peril.#FreeBobiWine#FreePeterBiar#NoToViolence

Netizens were, however, not impressed by her pleas and demanded to know why she was not pushing for justice in Kenya.

“Can you please first champion for Justice for baby Pendo and Chris Msando before you cross over to champion for Justice in other countries,” an irate Kenyan tweeted.

The netizens wondered why she was not as vocal during the 2017 General Election period when extrajudicial killings were taking place.

Bobi Wine was apprehended on Monday August 13 following chaos that broke out on the last day of the campaigns for Arua Municipality.

The chaos resulted to stoning of a vehicle in President Yoweri Museveni's motorcade.

His driver Yasin Kawuma was shot dead by police during the same fracas with the politician claiming he was the target of the bullets.

Reports that the legislator cum musician was severely tortured and injured have been trending on social media for the last few days.

Other high profile individuals who have called for his release include Sauti Sol, Jua Cali, Robert Alai, activist Boniface Mwangi and controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna.

"I should explain that none of this applies to young NASA supporters. They were shot, run over by a Prado-driving Jubilee supporter, brutalised, crushed, ignored and abused. And I remained SILENT about their persecution...but I did call for peace."

There. Fixed that for you.

Hahahahahahaha. You were quiet and a government supporter when Kenyans here were being killed. Like you literally said nothing when the government killed a six month old. And here you are. In our new Africa we don't need hypocrites
