Mulipuko was rushed to Mt Elgon hospital where is currently receiving treatment.
Kibunguchy’s chaperone was also injured during the incident as well as Tongaren MP Eseli Simiyu bodyguard.
Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Kibunguchy mentioned that fracas ensued when he invited Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula to the podium.
“A CEC took the stage right before Wetangula and the people became chaotic, hurling insults and forced him out.
“The police manning the ceremony opened live fire at the mourners,” he narrated.
He noted that the police did not act diligently citing they opened fire at the mourners instead of shooting in the air.
“I am currently lodging an official complaint at the Kitale Police station,” he divulged.
The legislator’s driver was killed on Sunday 12 after unknown assailants shot at the vehicle they were using.
The incident occurred at 9 pm at Soy trading centre along the Eldoret-Kitale highway as the Likuyani MP was headed to his rural home.
