Police Move Fast to Protect Michael Oyamo From Impending Danger

Police have moved swiftly to protect Governor Okoth Obado's personal Assistant Michael Oyamo from impending danger.

On Tuesday, Oyamo was transferred to Nairobi where he was expected to be charged at 2 pm.

Reports indicated that Oyamo was moved from Homa Bay Police Station on Tuesday morning due to high tension in the county.

According to reports Oyamo's legal team had no idea of his whereabouts.

Advocate June Ashioya arrived at the Homa Bay High Court with her co-counsel to wait for their client to appear as was directed by the Senior Magistrate on Monday.

Hours later, the aide to Governor Obado was nowhere to be seen forcing them to go back to Homa Bay Police Station to inquire his whereabouts.

Irate residents had gathered outside the court on Tuesday in anticipation but were a disappointed lot when he failed to appear.

Oyamo was arrested on September 4 over the abduction of Nation journalist Barack Oduor and Sharon Otieno and a day later, Sharon’s body was found near Kodera Forest in Homa Bay County.

The gruesome death of Sharon shocked Kenyans with leaders calling for swift action on those behind the murder.

The county boss and Oyamo have been adversely mentioned in the case involving the second-year university student who was pregnant at the time of her death.
