Wajir Residents in Panic as Item Found in Vacuum Flasks Suspected to Cause Cancer

Residents of Wajir County called for intervention from health experts after they found an item inside their vacuum flasks that they suspect to be behind the rising number of cancer cases in the region.

The suspicious objects are tablet-like and are found between the outer casing and the double-glass interior.

Speaking to the Daily Nation, one of the residents explained that the items have caused such a stir that the flasks were being destroyed at an alarming rate.

"We need the government to dispel these rumours that vacuum flasks are toxic.

"There has been an enormous destruction of this vital gadget," Mohamed Abdi told journalists.

It is reported that the residents began destroying their flasks when the suspicious tablets were discovered.

"I have just destroyed two of my flasks since I don't know what these tablets are.

"They could be poisonous and I will never use it again," Mama Halima Abdi told reporters.

The residents have since resorted to using metallic kettles over fears of contracting the terminal illness.

County health officials have taken samples of the tablets to conduct tests and give a final verdict on their use and the claims of carcinogenic qualities.
