Kenyan Woman Dies on Board American Flight

A Kenyan woman travelling from Nairobi to the United States to visit her kin died aboard a plane a few minutes before landing.

On Tuesday, the lady identified as Hannah Kamau, a resident of Githunguri in Kiambu County, fell ill and collapsed while on the flight to Dallas, Texas.

The cabin crew told that she developed shortness of breath and started gasping for air. After collapsing, the crew performed CPR that revived her,”  Patrick Nganga, her nephew intimated to the Nation.

Hannah collapsed again and the flight attendants were unable to resuscitate her.

After about ten minutes or so, she collapsed again and this time around they couldn’t revive her,” Nganga continued.

Her daughter Alice Kamau revealed she hadn’t complained of any health complications before she left Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi.

I spoke to my mom just before she boarded the flight in Nairobi and at the time, she didn’t complain of anything.

She was in a jovial mood because she was finally coming over to see us, especially her grandchildren. It was a total shock to me when I was told that she had died,” she remarked.

She disclosed she was informed of her mother’s death by airport personnel where she was waiting to pick her up.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 23 at the Neema Gospel Church in Dallas, Texas as the family waits for an autopsy report to know the cause of death.

Our efforts to contact airport officials on the same were fruitless.
