Police in the US arrested a Kenyan woman suspected to have shot dead her ex-husband while in her house in Texas.
Ms Marie Kimani is being held by the US authorities since Wednesday when she shot Jonathan Tumbo at an apartment in Rhome, Texas.
Kimani had called the police over an argument with her ex-lover and when the officers responded to her distress call, they found a lifeless body in the house.
Ms Kimani reportedly killed Tumbo with a single gunshot in the chest.
During a grilling session with the police, Ms Kimani admitted that she was involved in a physical altercation with Tumbo.
In a press statement by the US authorities, police say: "subsequent follow-up investigation by investigators and related evidence was not consistent with Kimani’s account of a physical altercation".
The 35-year-old Kimani is struggling currently in police cells as she strives to raise Ksh100 million ($1million) bail.
