President Uhuru Kenyatta and First Lady Margaret Kenyatta on Thursday acquired bulls at the ongoing Nairobi International Trade Fair for Ksh1 million.

At the event, Uhuru and the First lady both dropped different sums to acquire two separate bulls.

Ms Kenyatta acquired a champion bull belonging to Kenya Seed Company-Elgon Downs farm in Kitale aged 2 years and weighing 650 kgs for Ksh670,000.

The President then acquired a born bull that weighs 560kgs for Ksh380,000.

Others at the auction event who successfully bid for bulls included Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko and Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri who offered sh280,000 for 460kgs and sh380,000 for 540kgs bulls respectively.

The First Lady’s bull is reportedly a cross breed between Borana and Simmental.

In 2017, President Uhuru outbid Sonko to walk away with one valued at Ksh1.2 million. In 2016, he also outdid former Governor Evans Kidero to own a Borana Bull for Ksh750,000

All the winning bulls for the last three years belonged to Kenya Seed Company-Elgon Downs farm in Kitale.

Several companies and institutions attended this year's Trade Fair to showcase products and services including the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, which until the close of the show on October 7th, is processing Good Conduct Certificates within 6 hours.
