Obado’s Moved From Private to General Ward

Migori Governor Okoth Obado has been transferred from a private wing of Kenyatta National Hospital to a General ward.

His Lawyer Evans Ondieki revealed on Thursday that he had been previously admitted in ward for patients with broken bones.

The governor is in a normal ward with other members of the public,” he stated adding that the Governor was not receiving special treatment and that he is using the facility just like other patients.

According to The Standard, “Public Pressure” from the public influenced his transfer to the general ward.

The Lawyer noted that Obado is “genuinely sick” and he is in safe hands at KNH.

I have spoken to the professor in charge of his treatment the only role we can play is to pray for him,” he confirmed.

Obado was arrested in connection with the murder of the slain Rongo University student Sharon Otieno.

On September 27, 2018  during his trial, a high court judge declined to release him on bond and instead remanded him 11 days awaiting witnesses statements.

His family members have been visiting him at the Industrial Area police celss claiming that it is in tandem with a court order that had granted them the chance to check on him.

His case will be heard again by the High Court on October 8, 2018.
