DP William Ruto's Office Seeks 2 Choppers in New Tender

Deputy President William Ruto's office invited tenders for air charter services for 2 planes; a helicopter and a fixed wing air craft, in a newly published advertisement.

A stringent criteria was set for interested bidders who are required to have a valid Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA).

Other requirements include bank statements indicating a healthy financial status, access to a credit line and a complete litigation history of the company.

Tender documents can be obtained at Harambee House Annex 1st Floor, Room 1B12/13.

A non-refundable fee of Sh1,000 also has to be paid by interested bidders.

After it was alleged that Ruto had personally acquired several high-end choppers since taking office in 2013, he claimed at a public forum that he was not the owner as alleged.

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria stood up to state that he was the owner of the chopper they had arrived in.

Ruto thanked him stating that he did not expect any more questions on the matter.

"My brother Kuria has just clarified that I borrow the chopper that I use from time to time. People have been on my case over the issue. The owner has been identified.

"Those who had questions have the answers. I thank Moses Kuria for being a gentleman and speaking the truth. Whatever he has said, let it be that way," he stated.
