Police After MP who Kidnapped a Man in Bomet

Police officers in Konoin, Bomet, are after the area MP Brighton Yegon who was accused of assaulting a man a week ago.

The man named Nicholas Ngetich, sustained serious injuries after he claimed he was beaten up by people working for the MP.

According to the Star, Ngetich stated that he was picked up by the politician who was accompanied by six people and later driven to James Finlay tea estate.

The 29-year old alleged that he was driven close to three hours then assaulted before being thrown out of the car.

"The MP's driver stopped us and asked me to enter the vehicle. I refused, and he pulled me off the bike and pushed me into the vehicle and sped off," remarked Ngetich.

He stated that political differences with the MP was the reason to why he was assaulted.

Felix Mutua who is a DCI officer in Bomet revealed that a summon was issued to the lawmaker to record a statement with the police in the next two days.

Mutua further pointed out that he will move to court to obtain arrest orders for Yegon if he failed to comply with the summon.

The MP however denied the claims by Ngetich and highlighted that he instead saved the man.

"Those are totally strange allegations…I am the one who saved him, I had to fix him in my car and in fact he is the one who requested that I should not drop him anywhere around that venue for fear of being attacked and so we had to take some distance away before dropping him," remarked the Konoin MP.

Ngetich who was bandaged up, recorded a statement at Konoin police station in the presence of his parents.
