CS Amina Swings Into Action After Student is Stabbed to Death Inside Staffroom

Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) Amina Mohammed on Thursday dispatched an investigative team from her office after a student got stabbed to death inside a staffroom.

Austin Disii, a form two student at Lugusi Boys School was on Wednesday attacked with a knife by a colleague as they were awaiting punishment at the office.

"We have sent a team to the school to investigate the matter and establish the circumstances under which the student lost his life," Amina stated.

Reports indicate that Disii later succumbed while receiving first aid from the teachers as they made arrangements to rush him to hospital.

The vicious attack disrupted learning at the institution which saw the Education ministry also send a team of counsellors to talk to the students to help them deal with the shocking experience.

The team will talk specifically to Form Four students who are about to start sitting KCSE examinations.

The attacker is reported to have inflicted deep cuts on his colleague's left shoulder.

There were no teachers in the room at the time of the crime although the suspect was later arrested and handed to the police in Malava.

In late September, Alvina Moracha, 17, a candidate at Sengera SDA Secondary School, Kisii County was lured to her death.

Moracha was revising for her exams on night when a person suspected to be her former boyfriend lured her out into the night and her body was later discovered in a fish pond.
