City Hall to Build Offices Worth Ksh 400 Million for Nairobi MCAs

City Hall has announced that it is set to construct new offices for its MCAs worth Ksh 400 million.

The county government stated the reason behind the setting up of the offices was to accommodate the ward representatives who did not have a working space.

"Currently 53 wards out of 85 are accommodated in rented offices.

"The remaining 32 offices are dilapidated and therefore in need of quick attention to save the situation," read part of the annual development plan for 2019-2020 by the county government.

Establishment of the administration block will begin in 2019 which will be located in the parking space between Taifa Road and City Hall.

A further cost of Ksh 100 million will be incurred in purchasing furniture and computers for the offices as reported by Nairobi News.

This is the second time the parking space at city hall has been converted into offices.

The basement area used for parking was transformed into modern committee rooms for the county government.

Aside from the offices, the county government headed by Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko set aside Ksh 42 million to be used in drainage and road repairs in Dandora and Eastleigh estates.

Ksh 80 million was also reserved for the purchase of medical equipment and construction of an oxygen plant and laundry area for Pumwani hospital.
