Nairobi Business Tycoon Brian Yongo Arrested Over Fake Range Rover Logbook

Businessman Brian Yongo was arrested for using a fake Range Rover logbook.

Yongo who had sued former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo arraigned in court over a Ksh20 million debt in August was arrested by police at Kileleshwa.

He was accused of having used the fake documents to get a Ksh4 million loan.

The businessman will be spending the weekend in police cells awaiting to be arraigned in court on Monday.

He will face charges of using false documents to obtain a loan.

Yongo had on July 2016 filed a bankruptcy case against Jirongo claiming that the former presidential candidate had failed to pay him Ksh25 million he advanced him as a loan between 2014 - 2015.

He accused Jirongo of only paying Ksh 5 million out of the amount.

In the suit filed at the High Court in Milimani, Nairobi, the businessman says the former Lugari MP paid Ksh10 million only leaving a balance of Ksh15 million.

He claimed that on October 5 last year, he entered a consent with Jirongo on how he was going to settle the debt and that despite the agreement, he never fulfilled it.

Yongo stated that since Jirongo paid the Ksh10 million, he had been evasive in settling the remaining amount.
