Jubilee leaders on Sunday clashed in front of Deputy President William Ruto following the demolishment of stalls in Githurai on Thursday night.
The leaders who were attending a church service at PCEA Ruiru Town Church traded accusation over the displacement of over 3,000 small traders in Githurai Market.
Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura hit out at Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu accusing him of treating the traders in an inhumane manner.
"These are the people who have built Githurai. They are the ones who came out in large numbers in the spirit of Thuraku and Kumira Kumira to vote in the county and national govt, yet they are now displaced.
"A Chinese cannot come to Kenya to benefit through Public Private Partnership (PPP) together with some few individuals and to the detriment of the common mwananchi," Mwaura stated.
Responding to Mwaura, Kiambu county assembly speaker Steve Ndichu told politicians to stop inciting the public over the market project which he said was spearheaded by the President himself as a fulfillment of Jubilee campaign pledges.
"If you want to know about the project ask the President himself since it is his brainchild," the Speaker responded.
Deputy Governor James Nyoro called the leaders to truce asking them not to wash their dirty linen in public and especially in the presence of the Deputy President.
"There are six days before Sunday. Let’s sit down and reason together," Nyoro urged the leaders.
