Harambee Stars Captain Victor Wanyama Linked With Move Away from Tottenham

Harambee Stars captain and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama could soon leave the North London club according to reports by The Sun and Football Insider.

Wanyama has been linked with a move to West Ham which is in need of a holding midfielder.

Wanyama has featured only five times for Tottenham this season, with a knee injury last season seeing him lose his spot in the starting line-up to Eric Dier, Moussa Dembele and Harry Winks.

He enjoyed a booming start to life at Tottenham, making 47 appearances in his first season at the club.

Mauricio Pochettino signed Wanyama from Southampton for £11 million in 2016.

West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini has been deploying fullback Declan Rice in central midfield this season and is believed to be in search of an experienced DM.

Wanyama was on Tuesday named in a 30-man provisional squad to face Sierra Leone by Harambee Stars Coach Sebastian Migne.

The match is slated for November 18 at the Kasarani Stadium but questions linger over the Sierra Leone FA.

Ongoing cases against top officials saw CAF cancel the country's double header against Ghana in October.

After 4 matches, Kenya sits on top of Group F with seven points in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
