Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi revealed that President Uhuru Kenyatta organized the luncheon at Deputy President William Ruto's Karen residence on Friday.
During a discussion on The 5th Estate, Mutahi opined that it was unlikely that the DP organized the meeting on his volition.
"In our view, this was all choreographed. Ruto did not invite him. Uhuru called Ruto and told him he was coming for lunch and that he would bring Raila with him," the political analyst hypothesized.
"Since Ruto's house is government property, the DP had no choice," Mutahi concludes of the meeting that also featured the oligarch and businessman Jimmy Wanjigi.
Equally, Mutahi read foulplay in the planning of the meeting by 'rebellious' Mt Kenya MPs at Enashipai Resort & Spa, Naivasha.
"We are prepared to bet that Uhuru sponsored the Naivasha meeting for the GEMA MPs
"Otherwise, why was Joe Mucheru, a Cabinet Secretary, at the meeting," Mutahi posed.
He further dispelled the claims that there was a GEMA rebellion noting that anxiety was more likely being witnessed in Mt Kenya region.
Alluding to an earlier incident where Uhuru indicated that his choice of a successor would shock the country, Mutahi added that the lunch at Karen and the Naivasha meeting were likely part of a greater plot.
"Uhuru was taught by the very best, and the brilliance of his mind is only beginning to show.
"He learnt charisma and irrational boldness from Mzee Kenyatta. Mzee Moi taught him how to be sneaky and Mzee Kibaki taught him the art of political braggadocio (arrogance)," Mutahi elaborated of the mentorship that has seen Uhuru beat his political opponents.
