Siaya Governor has spoken on being the mastermind behind an alleged assassination pot on an MCA who exposed corruption in the county government.
On Sunday, Central Alego MCA Leonard Oriaro accused Governor Cornel Rasanga of planning to kill him for exposing corruption in Siaya.
Addressing journalists in Siaya town he indicated he was to be eliminated because he had differed with the governor over accountability.
The legislator alleged Rasanga had called him during a training session in Mombasa on Wednesday.
“The governor called me at around noon with a message that enough is enough and I should be prepared to painful fall.”
Oriaro further stated he was a human right defender and a crusader for good governance and not even death threats will deter him.
Speaking to the Star, the county boss dismissed the allegations as an attempt to taint his administration.
“That’s a figment of his imagination, perhaps he has a memory lapse,” he remarked.
The governor refused to give further information on the issue.
Siaya county communications director Jerry Ochieng stated the allegations of a murder plot amount to a witch-hunt.
