Martha Karua Blast DP William Ruto for Using Her

‎NARC-Kenya party leader Martha Wangari Karua on Tuesday blasted Deputy President William Ruto for using her name in his campaigns.

Through her Twitter handle, Karua warned Ruto's campaign team to desist from dragging her name along.

"That is true! I hold the view that William Ruto is the least qualified for the job (presidency) and as such would never endorse him," Karua quipped.

The former Gichugu MP was responding to reports over a statement allegedly circulating on WhatsApp indicating that she endorsed Ruto for president.

When a netizen insisted that Ruto will win huge support from the 'hustlers', Karua retorted, "Just leave me out of it and I will not be bothered."

Another tweep, Marto Fisher, had opined that no dynasty can stop Ruto from ascending to the presidency.

The netizen was contrasting Baringo Senator Gideon Moi's recent tour in Homa Bay County versus Ruto's tour in Migori County.

However, Karua impressed that the "voters will and must" stop Ruto from becoming the President.

Karua, who lost the Kirinyaga gubernatorial race to Governor Anne Mumbi Waiguru, has in the past outrightly opposed Ruto's presidential aspirations.

In a past interview, Karua indicated that in 2017, he only supported Ruto on a ticket which had two people but her main support was to President Uhuru Kenyatta.

"I am being very upfront, I will not support him (in 2022). Its called choice in democracy," she previously told  NTV's Side Bar.
