Huddah Monroe Lands Major Deal With Facebook

Huddah Monroe has landed a major deal with Facebook after her brand Huddah Cosmetics was selected as the first social commerce merchant on Mula.

Mula is a collaboration between Facebook and Pan-African Payments company, Cellulant which plans to capitalize Augmented Reality (AR) in online sales experiences.

The Mula Shops will enable the customers to try products before buying them - a feature that has been lacking in many online stores.

As the first social commerce merchant on Mula to launch the platform, Huddah Cosmetics will leverage on Facebook to provide a unique product discovery shopping experience for their customers.

"No matter how you look at the future of innovation in Africa- the future is in providing a seamless experience in a space that is currently fragmented," Cellulant’s Chief Product Officer Faizal Mirza stated.

"This partnership with Facebook allows us to do so for a segment that is often neglected when considering the economies of scale in Africa.

"This is the beginning of our journey to offering seamless, smart and connected digital payment experience to our customers across Africa," Mirza added.

The initiative hopes to provide a simple and convenient online shopping experience for the rising number of micro-merchants (or Hustle-preneurs) on social media.

"It's a great privilege and an honour to have the experiences and opportunities that I do," Huddah stated in an earlier message.

Huddah Cosmetics deals in a variety of beauty products including a lipstick line with over 11 shades like The Mara, Nairobi Blue, Sinner, The Purple Haze and Copper and moderately pigmented eyeshadow palettes.
