Uhuru's Tough Message After Ambira Boys Insult CS Amina, Matiang'i

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Saturday issued a stern warning against errant students that the government will no longer tolerate their actions.

Speaking during this year's Kenya Scouts Association (KSA) Patron’s Day, Uhuru indicated expressed concern over the Ambira Boys incident where students were recorded on video hurling unprintables to Cabinet Secretaries Amina Mohammed and Fred Matiang'i.

"I equally send a very strong warning to those young fellows who think that they can indiscriminately involve themselves in negative activities.

"We will not and shall not entertain indiscipline and abuse from our young people. You must learn to respect your elders," the President cautioned.

Conforming the arrest of the boys captured in the video, the Head of State noted: "As I talk to you today, those boys are where they should be in order for them to be disciplined".

He further expressed his dismay that the students had the sheer guts to publicize, through insults, that they were proud to have succeeded in exam cheating.

Uhuru added that the elders equally need to reciprocate by equally respecting the young and nurturing them.

"I say this with a heavy heart... We must build a society that is cohesive, that is disciplined and that has respect.

"If indeed you are ready to brag about (exam) cheating, we shall show you what this nation does with cheats and people who have no respect for their elders," the President stated attracting an applause from the KSA Patron’s Day attendees.

In a firm note, Uhuru concluded: "Hiyo tutawaonyesha jameni. Hiyo itakua (We will deal with you. That will be the case).

As part of the measures to curb indiscipline in schools, the President revealed that two teachers will be deployed by TSC in every county to foster the Scouts Movement values.
