Nairobi's Beautification Excites Governor Hassan Joho

The ongoing beautification programme by the Nairobi City County Government has attracted accolades from Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho

Governor Joho lauded the initiative when he was in Nairobi City to attend the global conference on Sustainable Blue Economy at KICC.

Joho admitted that he was really impressed with the beautification exercise done by Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko

“We can work and make our two cities great. I’m impressed with the ongoing beautification in your city,” Joho told Sonko, when he paid the Governor a courtesy call at City Hall on Monday.

He promised to initiate the same exercise in Mombasa and to establish inter-county relations between Mombasa and Nairobi for the benefit of residents of the two cities.

On his part, Sonko pledged to work closely with his Mombasa counterpart to ensure the two cities become the best to invest, live and work in.

Sonko affirmed that he will continue to maintain a clean and beautiful environment for both locals and foreigners in the two counties.

“My administration is ready to work closely with your county government on matters relating to the environment and the blue economy,” remarked Governor Sonko.

Sonko held brief sessions with various heads of state who were also attending the Blue economy conference.

He met Danny Faure of Seychelles, Ali Mohamed Shein- Zanzibar and African Union Commission Chairperson Moussa Faki Mahamat.

Over 17,000 international delegates are attending the conference, which officially kicked off on Monday at KICC Nairobi.
