Lawyer Ahmednassir Abdullahi Predicts Foreigner CJ in Kenya in 10 Years

City lawyer Ahmednassir Abdullahi has predicted that Kenya will have a foreign Chief Justice in 10 years time.

Taking to social media, the celebrated lawyer argued that the entire Supreme Court will also be governed by foreigners as well.

He explained that the country’s rampant corrupt practices, political bias and simply bad manners will be the greatest impediments leading to a judicial system lead by people from other countries.

He, however, supported the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji's recent appointment of Queen’s Counsel (QC) lawyer Khawar Qureshi.

I support 100 (per cent) the appointment of Khawar Qureshi QC by DPP Noordin.

Take it from me in ten years time we will have a foreigner CJ (and) the entire Supreme Court run by foreigners because of our corrupt practices, political biases & bad manners,” wrote the lawyer tagging former CJ Willy Mutunga.

DPP Haji appointed the QC from United Kingdom with a specific purpose of prosecuting Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu’s ongoing case.

His decision was, however, received with mixed feelings with several leaders in government publicly bashing the appointment arguing that the DPP bypassed other qualified Kenyans for the top job.

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen accused the DPP of making a misguided move arguing that the decision undermined the capability of Kenyan prosecutors.

He went ahead and challenged him to prosecute the case himself.
