Jacque Maribe and Jowie Hug in Court

Jacque Maribe and Joseph 'Jowie' Irungu surprised Kenyans when they appeared in court on Tuesday for the mention of their case.

They were seen embracing each other which is the first public gesture of that nature they have made since their indictment.

The relationship between Jacque and Jowie became rocky since they were linked to the murder of Monica Kimani in her Kilimani apartment.

During the case, the prosecution informed the court that government chemist had not finished analysing her car which was suspected to have been used in the murder.

It also emerged in court that the prosecution was yet to supply both Maribe and Irungu, aka Jowie, with statements from protected witnesses in order to prepare their defence.

Irungu raised complaints that he has not been taken for surgery but only been subjected to physiotherapy at the Kenyatta National Hospital seeking to be allowed to seek further treatment in a different hospital.

However, Dr Benjamin Obwire, who is specialist in plastic and rehabilitative surgery at KNH took to the witness dock declaring that Irungu does not need any surgery based on tests run by the hospital.

Early the same morning, Dennis Itumbi had penned an emotional poem to Jacque for her birthday.

This was just another of many times that the former State House insider has publicly expressed his love for the TV queen.

Following the arrest and arraignment of Maribe in court over the murder, Itumbi also penned a letter for her son Zahari.
