Moses Kuria Attacks Waititu for Sending His Brother Home

Gatundu MP Moses Kuria has criticised Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu after he sent the lawmaker’s brother John Ngigi home.

He was speaking at the memorial service of Equity Bank co-founder Peter Kagema in Nairobi on Thursday.

He (my brother) got terminated at 8 pm last night, just a few days after our encounter with Waititu in Thika, and he was not even given time to handover,” Kuria stated.

The Parliamentarian was referring to the New Year eve celebration at Thika Stadium, where he suggested that although the region supported President Uhuru Kenyatta, it had not received much development.

The MP highlighted the need to build a culture of strengthening institutions and removing politics from the running of administrations, civil service and the public service hence making management of public affairs professional.

Introducing politics in such affairs is very unfair, but that is the kind of governor that we have in our county, unfortunately,” concluded the MP.

Ngigi, who served as the Kiambu County Chief Officer Agriculture, Crop production, Irrigation, and Marketing was forced to proceed on his annual leave for 30 days.

"It has been noted that you have not taken your annual leave for some time due to the busy nature of your office. You are hereby therefore advised to proceed for your annual 30 days leave with effect from Thursday 3rd January 2019," read the letter by the Governor.

During the New Year eve celebrations, Kuria had regretted, “We have been rendered into voting machines but development is channelled elsewhere; we must shelve that nonsense.

I want to tell the President to launch water, new roads, and electrification projects. We were with him in Kisumu where he launched new roads but coming to Kiambu, he only issued certificates to rehabilitated alcoholics,” added the MP.
